Expectation: everything is packed, settled, and working exactly as planned.

Reality: the unexpected overlook has other ideas. Small routines for routing, rest, cargo, visibility, and stops make long-distance driving calmer and more adaptable.

A little patience, a quick check to build time and fuel margin into the route, and a willingness to laugh at the timing usually restore order. The story gets better once the problem is behind you.
