Cross Your Safety Chains Correctly
Safety chains are your backup if the coupler ever fails. Crossing them properly means they cradle the tongue instead of letting it drop straight to the road.
- Cross chains under the tongue so they cradle it if the coupler fails.
- Leave enough slack for turns, but not so much they drag on the road.
- Use chain hooks or clips designed to stay closed under sudden load.
