Double-Check The Car Seat Install
Even a top-rated car seat doesn’t protect a child if it’s installed incorrectly. A quick recheck before a long trip, especially after moving it between vehicles, is worth the five minutes it takes.
- The seat shouldn’t move more than an inch at the belt path when tugged.
- Check the harness height matches your child’s current size.
- Have a certified technician verify the install if you’re ever unsure.

What I struggle with on occasion is to get the rear anchor behind the seat set for forward facing seats as my children get older...but very important part of the anchoring plus the connectors that tie into the metal seat loops. All must be tight. Unfortunately know a family that was hit by another vehicle with all the children in the car and their child seats kept them all safe!
