Get Tongue Weight In The Right Range
Tongue weight that’s too light or too heavy is behind a lot of trailer sway complaints. Getting it into the right range is simple once you know the target.
- Aim for tongue weight around 10–15% of total trailer weight.
- Too little tongue weight causes sway; too much overloads the rear axle.
