I have a 2009 911 Turbo Cab—this one is a 997.15. This

car is a great daily driver for me. So far I have kept it original OEM equipped since it is very nice and others seem to value keeping the car original. But after 17 years, maybe it’s time to tinker a bit. Appreciate others input on what should be considered.

Oh the color is basalt black metallic with a natural brown interior!

Key things to consider:

  • Porsche graphic pack - personally like the 70s style pack
  • Wheels - always spruce up the look. Black for a BatMobile evil look or brass for the classic 70s look
  • Finally- sound with a Sebring exhaust to let the engine breathe

These types of upgrades will give my 997.15 911 turbo a refreshed look. The amazing thing is a new 911 turbo is 2-3 times what my 2009 cost. And they have gotten much bigger and no 6 speed manual option. Much better choice to keep mine going strong!

17 years OEM is impressive too

If you’re finally ready to tinker, I’d start with stuff that’s easy to undo:

  • Tires: even on stock wheels, a modern tire will wake this car up more than you’d expect

  • Exhaust: a cat-back is probably the most-loved mod on this platform. Doesn’t touch reliability

  • Suspension refresh: If the PASM is getting tired, this is as much maintenance as it is a mod
