Warm Up Tires & Brakes Before Pushing Hard
Tires and brakes both need heat to reach their full grip potential, and pushing hard before they’re warmed up is a common way to lose control unexpectedly. A gradual warm-up lap changes the whole feel of the car.
- Build up speed and braking force gradually over the first lap or two.
- Weave gently to help bring tire temperature up evenly.
- Avoid maximum braking until pads and rotors have some heat in them.
